Inc., Food Bank has been in operation since June 1, 1988. We are an ecumenical group of churches and civic groups that have come together to help the needy of New Braunfels. All food distributed is donated and all labor is volunteer. Most of our donations come in as non-perishable food items. However, although we don't solicit money, we also receive monetary donations.Churches and civic groups represented on the Board of Directors are:

These churches and groups also contribute financially to the mission of the SOS Food Bank. If you wish to donate food, just come by any afternoon between 1:00 and 4:00 or call the Food Bank to arrange another time. Every family receives the "Basic Bag" of food which is supplemented with canned goods and bakery and other items, depending on the number of family members. The "Basic Bag" contains frozen meats , 1 dozen eggs, flour, rice, sugar, beans, pasta, tomato sauce, oatmeal and peanut butter. The cost to put together a "Basic Bag" of food is approximately $20.00. If you would like to donate the equivalent of a "Basic Bag" of food, you may send your check for $20.00 to the SOS Food Bank.
