Threat at NBHS 9th Grade Center Under Investigation

New Braunfels, Texas — On today’s date (02-02-17), at approximately 1:30pm, officers with the New Braunfels Police Department were called to the New Braunfels ISD’s NBHS 9th Grade Center located in the 600 block of South Guenther Ave. for a report of an online threat made against the school by a male student who was not on campus. The 9th Grade Center was then placed on what the district refers to as a “soft lockdown.” By 1:45pm, NBPD officers located the student and the campus returned to its normal schedule. All students were safe and the school day ended without incident. NBPD officers are continuing their investigation into this incident, but, at this time, it is believed that the threat to the school was NOT credible. The 14-year old suspect student and his parents have been contacted and they have been fully cooperative with the ongoing investigation. Authority: David Ferguson – NBPD Communications Coordinator
