2017 Statewide Warrant Round Up
Published on Feb 14, 2017 / Local News
New Braunfels, Texas – The City of New Braunfels has joined with more than 300 court and police entities across Texas (including the Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Corpus Christi areas) to clear class c misdemeanor warrants. Focused arrests will begin on Saturday, February 25, 2017, but notice is being given now to encourage voluntary compliance. This is not an amnesty, so those with warrants may be arrested at any time, but with so many cities participating beginning two weeks from now, chances of arrest go up considerably for those who have not resolved their warrants.
Class c misdemeanors include traffic, state law, city ordinance and parking violations. All of these violations are criminal offenses and subject to having warrants of arrest issued if they are not handled in a timely manner. The New Braunfels Municipal Court is open on Mondays and Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Court will also be open until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1st. Court is located at 550 Landa Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
There is a drop box in front of the Municipal Court building and Spanish speakers are available. Those with warrants will not be arrested when they visit the Court, and there are options other than payment. Payments may, however, be paid in person, through the mail or online at www.nbtexas.org/court.
Those who have warrants are strongly encouraged to go online or contact the Court before arrests begin statewide on February 25th.
