UPDATE: Comal River Reopens for Recreation

New Braunfels, Texas — Effective at 4pm today (02/15/17), the Comal River in New Braunfels is open again for recreation. As of this release, the Comal River flow is at approximately 415cfs and stable. Minor amounts of debris have been cleaned up and there were no major damages to city facilities following the latest heavy rains. River-goers should be aware of potentially submerged debris and should always use caution when on area waterways. And NBPD advises that everyone wear a life jacket when participating in water recreation. The Guadalupe River inside the city limits of New Braunfels remains open for recreation.
