Election Day for the 2016 general election is Tuesday. Polls in Comal County will be open from 7am. to 7pm. The last person in line at 7pm. will be the last person allowed to vote.

On Tuesday, November 1, the Headwaters at the Comal Advisory Committee and New Braunfels Area Community Foundation officially launched the Foundation Builders Capital Campaign with a goal of raising $1 million in the community between November 1 and December 15, 2016.

Seguin investigators are searching for clues in a double homicide that happened over the weekend. Officials advise that 30-year-old Jeremy Sauceda, and his mother, Belinda Sauceda, 64, were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a duplex early Sunday morning.

San Marcos Police officers pulled a man from a burning vehicle Monday night minutes after a single vehicle crash in the 2600 block of Hunter Road. Despite officers’ effort to revive the unresponsive man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The City of New Braunfels is inviting the entire community to the first Visioning Workshop for the Comprehensive Plan update.  This community-wide meeting will be held from 6:30 pm to 8:30 p.m. on November 29th, at the Civic/Convention Center.

The New Braunfels Public Library is hosting a local author fair on Saturday, November 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Each author will speak about themselves, their books and their writing process for about 10 minutes. 

The Comal ISD Community Education Department received $2,500 from the GVTC Foundation recently. One hundred percent of the donation will go toward the Community Education Department’s scholarship fund.
