May 3rd - The Big Give a 24-hour day of giving that brings donors and nonprofits together by creating a shared region-wide experience and connecting people to the causes that matter to them the most. The New Braunfels Area Community Foundation is once again helping with the event. NBACF President, Britt King explains:

As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Comal County, Connections, and CASA/ Court Appointed Child Advocates are teaming up for a free networking and training opportunity - this Friday, from 9am. to Noon.

City Council on Monday heard a presentation and update on the Watershed Protection Plan from City Public Works Director, Greg Malatek. Officials report a high bacteria/e coli count from area deer, ducks, and other animals may force a wildlife reduction policy in New Braunfels.

City Council last night approved its Consent Agenda, which included renewing the industrial district designation for the WalMart distribution facility; contracts to begin design through construction on the Live Oak Avenue/Katy Street Improvements Bond Project; and contracts for the Wood Road/Landa

Anyone with information on the identities of these two suspects is asked to call New Braunfels Police or Comal

County Crime Stoppers. Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2000 for information

that leads to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment. 

Comal County making available online its official public records (OPR) dating back to 1974.

NBPD officials report a number of New Braunfels residents have reported receiving text messages that appear to be from Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union.

The NBPD reports a theft at Bluebonnet Motors on IH-35-South, resulted in the loss of three Ford truck tailgates, for a damage loss listed at more than $18,000.  (The NBPD has advised that this estimate, taken from the initial report, may be extremely high.)  This brings the number of Ford tailgates stolen in the last six days, up to at least seven.

Comal County- The Comal County office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will “Spring into Training” with childcare provider training (tomorrow) Saturday. The all-day conference at New Braunfels Presbyterian Church, 373 Howard St., is $40, and includes lunch. Check-in begins at 8am., and the last sessions end at 3pm. The conference will provide seven clock-hours toward meeting state

The Comal County Office of Public Health is celebrating National Infant Immunization Week by hosting a free Spring Fling for the public TODAY, from 1 to 4pm.. The event will include $15 vaccinations for qualified uninsured or underinsured children.

On Friday, federal, state and local authorities arrested eight individuals and are looking for three others in connection with a heroin/cocaine trafficking operation in the Seguin and New Braunfels areas.
