Johnny Joey Jones: We Should Have Taken “The Bully Pulpit” To Get People Out Of Afghanistan

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News contributor and podcast host Johnny Joey Jones shared his strategy on how the Biden administration should have handled the evacuation of Afghanistan and why Congress should shoulder some responsibility as well.

“We should have taken the bully pulpit and said, listen, we’re going to get everybody out of this country and that includes our citizens. If that means we’re going to keep 10,000 troops there, 20,000 troops there until that happens, then that’s what we’re going to do. And then Congress has the opportunity to go to bat. And if it’s the American people’s will to get troops out of Afghanistan, Congress has all the power in the world to force the administration to do it. But if you’re the President of he United States, your responsibility for the Americans there and our national security, more so even than the will of the American people, that’s your responsibility. They elected you to accomplish that task. It’s Congress’s job, if our will waivers and changes in popular opinion, changes on that, to go to bat and go to work on it. Our government just does not function the way it’s supposed to. And rather than banking on it, the people in DC bank on it not functioning the way it’s supposed to. And that’s the position we’re in now.”
