Unemployment Rate in New Braunfels Drops to 3.7% in October

(New Braunfels, TX) -- The unemployment rate here in New Braunfels continues to drop, down to 3.7% in October. According to Workforce Solutions Alamo, that’s a decrease of 2-tenths of a percent from September’s 3.9% unemployment rate and is far below the overall jobless rate of 4.5% for the 8-county area made up of Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson County. New Braunfels’ unemployment rate is also significantly lower than San Antonio and Seguin which each had a 4.4% rate in October, while Schertz had a 3.9% jobless rate. The State of Texas had a reported 4.8% unemployment rate in October, while the nation’s jobless rate came in at an even 5%.
